Autism screening is a process used to identify early signs of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in children. It involves using specific tools, questionnaires, or assessments to evaluate a child's behaviour, communication, and social skills. The goal is to detect potential developmental concerns or delays that may indicate autism.
The purpose of autism screening is not to diagnose autism but to identify whether further assessment is needed to confirm or rule out ASD. Early diagnosis and intervention can significantly improve the quality of life for children with autism.

Support during the critical early years helps children overcome developmental delays, learning difficulties, or emotional challenges. This proactive approach enhances growth, builds essential skills, and prevents long-term issues, ensuring a solid foundation for future academic, social, and emotional success.
Through structured play, children can express their emotions, work through challenges, and develop coping skills. This therapeutic approach provides a safe space for self-expression, helping children process feelings, build resilience, and promote emotional healing in a supportive environment.
Ambrave underscores the crucial role of parents as their children's initial educators. We prioritise educating and empowering parents with effective strategies and support. Maintaining consistency between our therapists, school teachers, and caregivers is vital.
Treatment and Specialisations
In pursuit of these vital skills and knowledge, parents can engage in workshops, online courses, and support groups. These resources are offered by various organizations and autism advocacy groups. Equipped with this comprehensive education and support system, parents can empower themselves to provide the best care and guidance for their child on the autism spectrum, creating an environment conducive to their growth and well-being.
ABA techniques like positive reinforcement, play-based learning, social skills training and functional behavior assessment / management will be taught throughout the journey of your child's therapy. ABA therapy with parents' active involvement would be highly effective.
Parents of autistic children often face unique challenges that can be emotionally and mentally demanding. Counselling and support services designed specifically for these parents are invaluable in helping them navigate this journey. These services offer a safe space for parents to express their feelings, frustrations, and concerns, providing emotional support and coping strategies.
We empower them to become more resilient and better equipped to meet their child's unique needs. These services provide a lifeline for parents, allowing them to share their experiences and connect with others facing similar challenges. In essence, parents' counselling and support services provide a holistic approach to aiding both the parents and their autistic children, contributing to a more supportive and nurturing family environment.
A School Readiness Programme equips children with the skills needed for a smooth transition to formal schooling. It fosters cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, enhancing learning, independence, and confidence. By addressing developmental challenges early, it ensures children are prepared for academic and social success, creating a strong foundation for their educational journey and personal growth.
Academic skills development: introduces basic concepts (letters, numbers, shapes) to ensure a strong foundation for learning.
Social and emotional development: builds social skills, confidence, and emotional regulation for peer and teacher interactions.
Adaptation to routines: helps children adjust to structured environment and gain independence in tasks.
Reducing anxiety: prepares children and parents for a smoother, less stressful school transition.
Our school shadowing program aims to help your child adapt easily to a regular education setting. Experienced therapists will accompany your child in their class assisting them to follow instructions and rules, understanding learning expectations and interacting with their peers. The shadow teacher will also observe your child's behaviour and provide support to teachers and school staff in working with your child.
The role of a shadow teacher encompasses several key functions, such as:
Enhancing favorable classroom behaviors, including sitting attentively, following instructions, and completing assignments independently.
Mitigating problematic behaviors like screaming, shouting, meltdowns, noncompliance, and disruptive behavior during lessons.
Simplifying complex concepts into more manageable components to facilitate comprehension.
Cultivating positive work habits within the classroom environment.
Assisting the child in building positive peer relationships.
Promoting the child's independence within the school setting.
Teaching the child self-regulation techniques to manage emotions like stress, frustration, and anxiety effectively.
Educating and collaborating with school teachers to implement strategies harmoniously within the classroom.
