Psychology graduate (SMU)
Dion is a mental health advocate driven by a clear belief: no one should be judged for seeking help. Growing up, Dion witnessed the harsh labels often placed on individuals who reach out to mental-health professionals. Being treated as though something is fundamentally wrong with you continues to be a major barrier in Singapore’s help-seeking landscape. These early encounters with stigma shaped Dion’s commitment to creating a society where asking for support is seen as a sign of strength, not weakness.
With a background in Psychology and hands-on experience volunteering with youths and persons-in-recovery, Dion brings both academic grounding and real-world understanding into his advocacy. Through his community work, he has seen how the fear of judgment causes people to hide their struggles until they reach a breaking point. These experiences reinforced his conviction that meaningful advocacy requires visibility, empathy, and sustained conversation.
Dion believes that therapy should feel accessible, unintimidating, and human. His advocacy emphasises that recovery is not linear; people heal at different speeds and in different ways, and every journey deserves patience and dignity.
